July 2022 – Health Equity
Insights:
1. We need to address payer inequity. Commercial insurance is a privilege.
2. Multifactorial areas within health equity- geographic, transportation, various forms and shapes
3. Incremental change is necessary. Micro is good, even if we don’t have the macro yet.
4. Leveraging the community for finding solutions to health equity, putting our own assumptions in check.
5. Lack of education is a huge barrier to navigating the healthcare system
6. Understand that people can be from the same environment and have a complete different perspective on health equity.
