SUMMARY:ACHE-NV\, Virtual F2F Behavioral Healthcare
DESCRIPTION:F2F Behavioral Healthcare: Approaches to Increase Value for the Organization and Meet Community Needs\n\n\nHistorically\, hospitals and health systems have not always embraced a role in meeting behavioral health needs in communities because managing behavioral healthcare and mental health is very complex. \nAccording to the National Alliance of Mental Illness approximately 1 in 5 adults in the U.S.—43.8 million\, or 18.5%—experiences mental illness in a given year. The rate of youth with severe depression increased from 5.9% in 2012 to 8.2% in 2015. Nearly half (45 percent) of those with any mental disorder also meet criteria related to having a physical illness or substance abuse. \nPhysical health and mental health issues occur together. For example\, people with diabetes or cardiac conditions often develop depression as well. Being able to receive treatment for both conditions through an integrated behavioral health and primary care setting can be especially helpful since how we live our lives (behave) and our physical and mental health all interact with each other in complex ways. \nModerator: \n\nAudwin Angosta\, Director of Operations at Sana Behavioral Health\n\nPanelists: \n\nElyse Monroy\, Program Manager at NV-Overdose Data to Action\nSteve Shell\, Vice President at Stacie Matthewson Behavioral Health & Addiction Institute \nScott Snider\, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at Proven Behavior Solutions\, LLC \n\nThis event has been approved for 1.5 F2F credits. \nTo register for this event\, you must follow a 2 step process. \n\nPurchase a ticket on Eventbrite.\nRegister through ACHE’s Learning Management System. Instructions will be sent via Eventbrite order confirmation.

SUMMARY:ACHE-Nevada\, HCAHPS Data/Improvements in Patients' Experience of Care
DESCRIPTION:Discover How to Use Your HCAHPS Data and Make Improvements in Your Patients’ Experience of Care\n\n\nDiscover How to Use Your HCAHPS Data and Make Improvements in Your Patients’ Experience of Care \nThe speakers will present analytic steps on how to determine what areas of patient experience are in most need of improvement at hospitals and provide information about interventions that have been shown to improve doctor and nurse communication\, as well as interventions that did not result in improved HCAHPS scores. They will review a framework and set of initial analysis steps to assist leaders in reviewing HCAHPS scores\, analyzing what drives the HCAHPS scores\, comparing scores to national benchmarks and deciding on what areas of improvement are needed. The speakers will also present various evidence-based interventions from a recent literature review on implementations to improve HCAHPS scores and identify which efforts and programs can spur improvements and move the needle on specific HCAHPS scores. \n \nFacilitator: \nChris Cochran\, PhD\, is Chair of the Department of Healthcare Administration and Professor at the School of Public Health at the University of Nevada\, Las Vegas. \nCo-presenters: \nDenise D. Quigley\, PhD\, is a health policy researcher at the RAND Corporation\, professor at the Pardee RAND Graduate School and quality improvement team lead for the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) project. Her research focuses on factors influencing healthcare quality and delivery\, organizational behavior\, system change and monitoring quality measures with emphasis on patient and family care experiences. Barbara Lewis\, MBA\, is a UNLV PhD student. Her research focuses on what specific evidence-based programs documented in peer-reviewed literature have improved HCAHPS scores and those that did not. \nACHE members can self-report the event for qualified education credits.\nWebEx link will be sent to attendees after registration.
