Freestanding Emergency Departments (FED) are rapidly changing the healthcare landscape in Nevada. FEDs have a profound effect on critical topics including EMS operations, bed capacity in the community, how the public accesses and views emergency care, post-ER care including home health, DME, SNF placement, etc.

The Emergency Department is typically the “Front Door” to the hospital and most hospital admissions come in directly through the ED.
